When Chris Brown was arrested in the UK for reportedly assaulting a guy in a nightclub two years ago, he was not given bail.
Brown was arrested last week and charged with grievous bodily harm with purpose. He is due in court on Friday, May 16th.
They fought against Brown’s bail during the hearing, but the judge granted it while the R&B artist watched.
It was also revealed that the claimed event was caught on CCTV and that the prosecutor had called it “extremely serious.”
Brown was caught at The Lowry Hotel in the UK and will remain in jail until his next hearing on June 13. He only spoke in court to confirm his name and say that this is where he is staying in the UK.
Brown is in the UK getting ready for his Breezy Bowl tour, which starts on June 15—just two days after his next hearing.
No one knows what effect the court case will have on the tour.
Brown hasn’t said anything about his arrest or the show yet.
Brown is said to have hit music artist Abe Diaw at London’s Tape nightclub in 2023.
In the same year, Diaw sued the famous R&B singer, saying that Brown had intentionally hurt him badly by “beating him over the head” with a bottle of tequila.
Brown was also charged with “ruthlessly” stomping on Diaw’s head while he was on the ground, which also knocked him out.
Brown was also accused by Diaw of “spreading false rumors” about him after the claimed event.
The case may have been settled, but no one knows for sure.
At the time, it was said that police tried to talk to Brown about what happened, but he left the country before they could ask him.
Brown was previously not allowed to enter the UK because he was found guilty of beating Rihanna.
The ban on Brown continued more than ten years until it was lifted in 2020 by Priti Patel, who used to be Home Secretary.
At the time, the British government didn’t say why they lifted the ban on Brown entering the country.
