Growing up, Indie Soull was heavily influenced by the singer-songwriters of the 60s and 70s, citing Simon and Garfunkel, Van Morrison, Bill Withers, Nick Drake, and Tracy Chapman as some of his biggest inspirations. This love for music has stayed with him throughout his life, and he has been writing songs since he was just 15 years old.
After a few years of writer’s block, the COVID lockdowns saw Indie Soull rediscover his muse, and he has since written over 100 songs. He has released many of these songs on various albums and EPs, including live albums recorded at iconic venues in New York City.
Indie Soull’s music is a reflection of his soul, and he believes that the most important thing is to stay true to oneself and not try to cater to trends or fans. He has been fortunate to have had mentors like Taryll Jackson, who is a nephew to The King of Pop, Michael Jackson, member of the group 3T, and award-winning songwriter Andrea Stople, who have provided invaluable feedback and guidance.
