Drake shared a petition for Canadian rapper Tory Lanez to be freed from jail and called for him to be freed again.
Drake put a link to a plea on his Instagram Stories, asking California Governor Gavin Newsom to release Lanez from his 10-year sentence for shooting Megan Thee Stallion before the end of his second year.
It was also written by Drake: “@torylanez come home soon.”
Drake has always stood by his fellow Canadian, even after he was found guilty of shooting the Houston Hottie in the foot.
Drizzy put up a picture of Lanez with the words “3 you” on Instagram last year.
On his 2022 song “Circo Loco,” Drizzy seemed to rap about the shooting: “This bitch lie about getting shots, but she still she a stallion/ She don’t even get the joke, but she still smiling.”
Megan quickly replied on social media, writing, “Stop using my shooting for clout, you shithead N-ggas!” When did it become cool to make jokes about women getting shot? RAP N-GGAS ARE LAME, EVEN MORE SO YOU N-GGAS! Will not buy shoes or clothes from you, but don’t be nice to a black woman who says one of your homeboys abused her.

She also said, “And when the mf facts come out, remember all of your favorite n-gga rappers who stood behind a woman who shot her.” If you want to attack me, go ahead and do it. Later, Megan seemed to poke fun at Drake in her mean song “Hiss,” saying, “These n-ggas hate on BBLs and be walkin’ around with the same scars/ No edges, really curvy, and n-ggas fight to get in my area. A fellow prisoner stabbed Lanez 14 times, which has made the last two weeks very hard for him.
During the attack, two of his lungs collapsed, but he is expected to fully heal.
