Diddy is on trial for sex trafficking, and Kid Cudi is going to speak later this week.
Records from the court show that two more witnesses will be called to appear before Cudi on Friday.
During the first two weeks of Diddy’s very public trial, the connection between Cudi and Cassie has come up a lot.
Teenage Dream and Cassie dated for a short time in 2011 without Diddy knowing.
Cassie said in her own testimony that she and Diddy were “not in the greatest place” when they started dating.
She told the judge that Diddy found out about her friendship with the “Pursuit of Happiness” rapper when he looked through her phone and saw emails she had sent to a member of his staff.
Cassie then talked about how she thought Diddy reacted when he found out about the affair. She said the record executive “lunged” at her and put a corkscrew between his fingers.
She said that he got “really mad” and “his eyes went dark.”
Then Cassie said she ran away from the hotel where the fight was happening and called Kid Cudi on a fake phone to come get her. The rapper did.
Cassie continued her statement by saying that she tried to solve the problem by going back to Diddy’s house later that same day.
Cassie said Diddy told her during the fight that “he was going to hurt Scott and me.”
In her first lawsuit against Diddy, which was filed in November 2023, Cassie brought up the episode with the corkscrew and said that he was “going to blow up Kid Cudi’s car.”
In court, she said, “Sean wanted Scott’s friends to see his car blow up.”
Someone working for Cudi admitted that his car had been blown up, but they didn’t directly blame Diddy.
Last year, Diddy’s lawyers responded to the claim by saying, “It’s clear the government doesn’t know who set fire to the vehicle or how it relates to Mr. Combs, who denies any involvement.”
Cassie’s testimony also included information about how Diddy got angry when he thought the singer was seeing actor Michael B. Jordan in 2016. We don’t know if Jordan will be asked to speak.
