Rod Wave was arrested on multiple criminal charges related to a fight that is said to have happened last month.
The 25-year-old rapper was arrested on May 20 and charged with 13 crimes, including aggravated assault, criminal damage to property, pointing a gun at someone, having a gun while on felony probation, and tampering with evidence.
Rod was quickly able to get a bond and was let out of jail the same day.
There aren’t many details about what happened, and neither the cops nor Rod Wave have said anything about it yet.
Rod Wave has had many run-ins with the cops in the past.
He was caught last year on gun possession charges, but he was quickly freed because of what looked like a technical glitch that led to the wrong charges being brought.
Rod was caught on the specific charge of having a gun while a convicted felon, but there has been some disagreement about whether or not the rapper is a real convicted felon.
At the time, his lawyer Mark Rankin said, “If you took two minutes to look at his record online, you would see that he’s not a convicted felon.” And these are police cops who know how to look up someone’s past arrests.
For his arrest, they used a specific case from the statement. But if you look at that case, he was first charged with a felony crime, but later the charge was dropped to a misdemeanor. That can be seen with just two clicks.
The SoulFly star was found guilty of a felony crime for having a concealed firearm in November 2017, but court records show he only admitted to a misdemeanor charge of carrying a concealed weapon.
Rod Wave has also been charged with domestic violence before, for reportedly strangling his girlfriend in 2022.
In the end, the charges were dropped.
Rod also went to a teenage detention center because he shot another guy in the foot when he was 15.
Even though attempted murder charges were brought, it was afterward said that what happened was an accident, and those charges were also dropped.
