At just 22, British Asian singer-songwriter KANDA is proving that today’s music has no borders. Blending British rap, Punjabi influences, Hindi vocals and contemporary global production, the UK artist is carving out a fresh identity that resonates with listeners across the UK, India and beyond.
His latest single, “Majboori,” released on 26 June 2026, is a bold step forward. Fusing the infectious energy of Afro House with heartfelt Hindi lyrics, the track balances emotional storytelling with dancefloor-ready production. It’s a record that captures both vulnerability and celebration an example of how modern South Asian artists are redefining global pop music.
“With ‘Majboori,’ I wanted to create something people could dance to while still connecting with the emotion behind the lyrics. Combining Afro House with Hindi vocals allowed me to bring together different sides of my musical identity. My goal is to make music that crosses cultures and connects with people around the world,” says KANDA.

That cross-cultural vision has become the foundation of his artistry. His music reflects a generation that moves effortlessly between British rap, Punjabi rhythms, Bollywood melodies and international dance sounds, creating a style that feels both contemporary and authentic.
Despite his young age, KANDA has already worked alongside respected names including Punjabi MC, Dr Zeus, Apache Indian, DJ Harps, Ashok Gill, Manak-E and Karam Brar. Those collaborations have helped shape an artist equally comfortable honoring his roots while embracing the future of global music.
Industry recognition continues to grow. His releases have earned support from BBC Asian Network in the UK and Apple Music in India, introducing his music to an expanding international audience.
The second half of 2026 promises to be a defining chapter. KANDA is set to perform at major cultural events including Godiva in the City and the Leamington & Warwickshire Mela, sharing stages with established artists such as Jazzy B. His international calendar also includes a headline show at Club Mumbai in Vancouver, followed by his first headline concert in London later this year.
As British Asian music continues to reach new audiences worldwide, KANDA represents a new generation of artists who refuse to be limited by genre or geography. With “Majboori” leading the way and more music on the horizon, he’s not simply following trends he’s building a sound that connects cultures, generations and audiences around the world.
